Older people share their allotment expertise and get help in return.
A free exchange of knowledge and labour - both of which can be expensive to acquire. There is interest in growing your own in Eastbourne and a long waiting list for allotments. At the same time there are many older residents who have allotments that they can find increasingly difficult to manage. They could share their expertise in return for help with their plots. People could gain experience in growing fruit and vegetables and be offered a share of the produce. This would also foster more inter-generational activity in the town.
